Young Hamlet

I was hired by King Hamlet to be the family's personal Psychologist. Just in case the family ever had probllems I was always going to be there in their times of need. After the King died, Queen Gertude and Hamlet came more aften than usually. Not too long after I didnt see the Queen anymore, I think it was because she was now married to the King's brother, Claudius. She demanded that Hamlet continued his visits because she and her workers felt that he was having a very hard time coping with his fathers death. In fact, Hamlet was getting worse. Hamlet came to see me many times, most times I would just let him talk. He told me things about the ghost he saw, he told me how upset he was with his mother for marrying so soon with the murderer of his father. I could understand clearly why he was becoming "insane", it was because there was so many things going on in his head. I decided to put him through Psychotheraphy, to help him understand his strengths and weaknesses and why he his having such anxiety. Two weeks into the program I never saw young Hamlet again. I couldnt get in contact with the family but I heard rumes that he was sent away for good. I have yet to find out anything.

  1. Did Hamlet stop coming to psychotheraphy because the treatments were helpful and he was cured or did he become insane?

  2. Yes, why did he stop attending? It's weird that Gertrude would insist Hamlet continue to come then shortly after stop coming herself.

  3. What kind of things was Hamlet doing before Gertrude demanded more visits? I feel like we're missing some big chunk of this case. Any child would be devastated to lose a parent, so what things were Hamlet doing to make Gertrude think he was insane? Was her judgments based on her accounts or was this something her new husband came up with? Why was Hamlet "sent away for good?" Why didn't you question that? Did you assume he was sent to a psychiatric hospital? Maybe I'm being fickle but this case seems to have too many holes in it.

  4. Its organized but non-informative. I think writing a little more on this could help me figure out some clues on Hamlet.
